Western Oregon has two varieties of Salmon, Chinook (also known as King) and Coho (also known as Silvers). SNW Guide service fishes for Salmon on the Columbia, Willamette, Umpqua, Siuslaw and Coos Rivers. We fish for Springers from March - May and Fall Salmon from August - October.
Chinook Salmon is also known as King Salmon. Fishing for King Salmon is the ultimate thrill. King Salmon are very wild as they come right from the ocean. Pete follows these fish up river as the salmon migrate and will take you to the best fishing areas. The size of King Salmon range from 10 lbs to 60 lbs.
Coho Salmon range in size from about 5 lbs to 20 lbs and are very active fish. They have been known to jump and fight. The Coho salmon fishery runs into October and Pete is very familiar with their run as they migrate from the ocean up stream. Coho salmon run up river to all the tributaries of the Columbia River including the Willamette River.
